After my friend got a flat tire while driving my car, I took it to Big O at the suggestion of a family member. Not only did I get the flat tire changed, I also ended buying a whole new wheel, replacing another tire, and getting the car aligned. It was all work that needed to be done, and I ended up spending over $300 with this company.
Three days after I had all this work done ad money spent, the hubcap of one of the replaced wheels fell off while I was driving. I suppose that may have actually been a blessing in disguise because if it hadn't, I would have never known that one of the lug nuts on the tire was also broken off.
I immediately called the store and talked to the manager. He informed me that he would have to see the car before he could do anything. I told him I was a student in LA and would not be able to bring the car in for a weeks. He said he understood and would make a note of it.
When I brought the car in, the manager told me that he was in no way responsible for broken lug nuts or hubcaps that fall off especially after a week had passed in the interim, even though his people were the last to touch the car, the hub cap had fallen off only a few short days after work was done, and he later stated that he remembered talking to me on the phone. He would not acknowledge that his people broke a lug nut on my tire and failed to replace a hubcap correctly, preferring instead to claim that it was absolutely impossible that any mistake at all had been made. He came up with excuse after excuse, all of which were completely illogical and some flat out lies.
After a lot of hassle, he finally agreed to replace the lug nut, but still refused to accept responsibility for it or the incorrectly placed hubcap. He absolutely would not replace the hubcap and told me that I would have to buy a knew one.
The fact that this company's policy seems to be absolute denial of any and all responsibility once a car they have worked on leaves the parking lot is both shocking and upsetting. I was frustrated that the manager tried to blame me for his shoddy work and his people's unprofessionalism. I will never go to any Big O again after this and would advise people to stay away from this company.
