I bid and won a night vision scope. When it arrived, it was in a police evidence bag - UNOPENED! How did they get a photo of the item? They use STOCK PHOTOS, without indicating such in their listings! They REFUSE to test items, and when they say an item was untested due to a The "Lack of Equipment", that means they refused to buy nothing more than a pair of AA batteries!
They claim I'm lying about the evidence bag. I've offered to let them choose the State Crime Lab of their choice, and I will send the evidence bag and the scissors used to open it! Do I believe they'll follow through? Of course not! They have FAR too much to lose! They could face charges for false or misleading statements in their auction listings, and I KNOW I would not be the only one why had been subjected to a stock photo!
This it NOT a company with which you would want to deal. You CANNOT be sure if the item shown is the ACTUAL item!
They claim to have been HONEST when they said the item was not tested. While *TECHNICALLY* true, failing to remove an item from its evidence bag is NOT the same as examining it, and lacking a highly-specialized tool to properly test it. The scope had WORKING batteries in it! All they needed to do to test it was OPEN THE BAG! They could not do even this simple task.
I've received their final statement from the BBB: they stand by their claims. They REFUSED my offer to have the evidence bag tested to show I received in UNOPENED. That's not a surprise; they have FAR too much to lose.
Spend your money at Goodwill's auction site (shopgoodwill.com). They test as much as possible. If you spend money with Propertyroom.com, PRAY they'll send YOU an UNOPENED evidence bag - it might have a few ounces of pure heroin, worth THOUSANDS of dollars, or maybe even CASH! They're so incompetent with inventory control, you never know what you might get!
