I will never do business with this company. This just happened. I signed up last year for a very basic internet protection package, totalling less than $35. I logged into my bank account today to find that they have put me in their "automatic billing" program and decided (since my subscription was due) to enroll me for another year for a $65 package. My first issue with them is, how can you think I would be interested in your "titanium" package when you haven't even asked me if I wanted to renew? If you observe what I bought last year, then do NOT asssume on my behalf that I would want something that costs double what I got last year.
I called to get my $$ back and the two employees I spoke with acted like they could not give me my $$ back and told me the automatic billing jargin was in the e-mail they sent last year to confirm my purchase. That is something I would definitely remember, however, the e-mail was also sent an entire year ago. In today's trying times and busy schedules, people can barely remember what they did yesterday, let alone a single e-mail from last year that was supposedly attached to a confirmation of service e-mail. Smell a scam anyone? How can you enroll someone in an automatic billing program without their knowledge and have no key indicators that this has happened to the person that is clearly getting swindled? Ask this company, because they pulled it off without a hitch.
The end result? After the two employees realized I would pursue this until I got my $$ back, they finally issued a credit (that I have to wait 7 business days to receive). Funny, it didn't take them 7 days to take my $$. We'll see what happens from here. I have NO faith in this company, and I'm ready for a fight. It's not about the $$ it's the principle. You can't just purchase whatever you "think" someone will want on their dime. That's called fraud. Your lasting impression as a company should be better than this.
