My granddaughter needed oral surgery. Western Dental (Riverside Office Dr Hashem) was on her Delta Dental Insurance. I asked if they did a procedure called "expose and bond" I was assured that "yes we do", so I made an appointment and as per their recommendation I printed out and completed their patient information forms, etc. In the box that said what are you here for today? I wrote the name of the procedure. When she arrived she waited over two hours to be called to the patient area. She told them exactly what she was there for. They said they needed to clean her teeth and take x-rays first. She said "no, I just had a cleaning and x-rays by my regular dentist" She was then told the doctor could not examine her tooth without taking new x-rays. She did not know what to do so she let them take the x-rays. They took whole mouth x-rays not just of the one tooth she need surgery for. When this was done they then told her "WE DON'T DO THAT PROCEDURE, WE ONLY REMOVE WISDOM TEETH" They EXPOSED her to UNNECESSARY RADIATION! When she got home I called the office manager, Patty. I told her I wanted the x-rays, she told me no problem, I could pick them up. But when I went to get them to take to a real oral surgeon, they tried to charge me $25.00 for a PHOTO COPY of the x-rays. I never did get the actual films. Within a couple of weeks I received three bills with a threat of sending her to collections. Get real this photo copy cost them all of a penny maybe and they want $25.00. Not to mention threatening to ruin the credit rating of an 18 year girl that is still in high school! My advise is stay far away from any Western Dental. If I had first read all the complaints against them I would NEVER have made her an appointment. Like the other reviewers, unfortunately there is a no star or negative option, too bad.
